These are: lifting the state of emergency; ending secret detention and torture; upholding the right to freedom of expression and association; providing fair trials to everybody; holding to account people who are suspected of having committed grave crimes under the rule of Mubarak, including torture; realizing economic and social rights for the most poor; ending forced evictions in Egyptian slums and ensuring genuine participation of the local communities in putting forth plans of development for slums; non-discrimination as a principle applied on the basis of religion, race, language, or gender; protection of women's rights; and abolishing the death penalty.
