Certes, je suis ravi que le président de la Commission européenne ait pu assister au débat d’aujourd’hui. En revanche, je ne me réjouis pas du tout d’une éventuelle nouvelle communication qui devrait être publiée vers la fin de l’année, tant il est vrai que depuis 2000 nous n’avons fait que suivre un chemin tortueux jalonné de différentes communications, de l’interprétation au document final, sans que les confusions législatives ne soient clarifiées.
I am very glad indeed that the President of the Commission is able to be here with us, but I am very far from happy at the prospect of yet another new communication towards the end of the years, for, from the year 2000 onwards, we have covered a circuitous route from one communication to another, from interpretation to summit document, without the clarification of the legal uncertainties that we needed being forthcoming.
