The main provisions adapted relate to: - the conditions under which the use of ozone-enriched air may be permitted in order to separate unstable elements from natural mineral waters, - the obligation to include a statement of the analytical composition of natural mineral waters, in order to ensure that consumers are informed, - extension of the period of recognition for natural mineral waters originating in third countries in order to simplify administrative procedures, - extension of the scope of the Directive to include bottled waters labelled "spring water", - introduction of a safeguard clause enabling Member States to take decisions swiftly in cases of contamination of natural mineral waters, - establishment of a procedure to lay down certain detailed provisions concerning natural mineral waters, notably in respect of limits for the levels of certain constituents, labelling, analysis methods, etc.

The main elements of the revised reciprocity provisions in the banking sector are as follows : - requests for authorization by non-EEC banks to be notified to Commission by Member States, but no automatic suspension - Commission to examine how Community banks are treated in third countries, with first report before directive comes into effect, - where equivalent treatment not granted, the Commission may propose opening of negotiations with third country concerned, - where national treatment not giving effective market access, Commission may in addition to negotiations, seek to limit or suspend new authorizations from third country concerned.
