The promotion of decent work has been at the heart of the ILO’s policy agenda since the year 2000: in its decent work agenda, the ILO proposes giving all men and women real opportunities to acquire decent and productive work, in conditions of freedom, equity, security and human dignity.

Elle vise en particulier à assurer le plein respect de l’article 31 de la charte qui prévoit que tout travailleur a droit à des conditions de travail qui respectent sa santé, sa sécurité et sa dignité ainsi qu’à une limitation de la durée maximale de travail et à des périodes de repos journalier et hebdomadaire, ainsi qu’à une période annuelle de congés payés.
In particular, it is designed to ensure full compliance with Article 31 of the Charter, which provides that every worker has the right to working conditions which respect his or her health, safety and dignity, and to limitation of maximum working hours, to daily and weekly rest periods and to an annual period of paid leave.

[12] À cet égard, on se référera tout particulièrement au chapitre IV sur la solidarité: à l'article 27 sur le droit à l'information et à la consultation des travailleurs au sein de l'entreprise, l'article 28 sur le droit de négociation et d'actions collectives, l'article 30 sur la protection en cas de licenciement injustifié, l'article 31 sur des conditions de travail justes et équitables et l'article 32 sur l'interdiction du travail des enfants et la protection des jeunes au travail, ainsi qu'à l'article 5 du chapitre I sur la dignité, qui interdit l'esclavage et le travail forcé.
[12] Of particular relevance in this context is Chapter IV on solidarity: Article 27 on workers' rights to information and consultation within the undertaking, Article 28 on right of collective bargaining and action, Article 30 on the protection in the event of unjustified dismissal, Article 31 on fair and just working conditions and Article 32 on the prohibition of child labour and the protection of young people at work, as well as Article 5 of Chapter I on dignity, which prohibits slavery and forced labour.
