Deplores the fact that the Commission has not carried out an assessment of coordination in international organisations, and calls for a study to be conducted into the real opportunities for coordination between the Commission and the Member States in international organisations and conferences with a view to increasing the complementarity and efficiency of their activities in these fora; calls on the Secretary-General of the Council and High Representative for the CFSP to draw up a study into the scope for coordinating the Member States" positions within the various international fora;

COORDINATION AU SEIN DES ENCEINTES INTERNATIONALES A ce sujet le Conseil a adopté les conclusions suivantes complétant les dispositions pertinentes de la résolution de décembre dernier : "Le Conseil considère que la coordination entre la Communauté et les Etats membres lors des conférences et des réunions internationales, notamment dans le cadre des Nations Unies, qui fonctionne généralement de manière satisfaisante, devrait être poursuivie, notamment par un échange régulier d'informations, des contacts entre les Etats membres et la Commission, et des réunions préalables aux réunions plénières des différents fora internationaux.
CO-ORDINATION IN INTERNATIONAL FORA The Council adopted the following conclusions supplementing the relevant provisions of the Resolution of December 1993: "The Council considers that co-ordination between the Community and the Member States at international conferences and meetings, especially in the United Nations framework, which generally works satisfactorily, should be continued, in particular through regular exchanges of information, contacts between the Member States and the Commission and meetings prior to plenary meetings of the various international bodies.
