Le DGE espère néanmoins, je crois, que le débat général qui entoure la Loi électorale du Canada et le projet de loi C-23 permettra de porter la question de la vie privée à l'attention de la Chambre, du Sénat et de la population; il sera alors possible d'utiliser ce processus comme un aiguillon pour amener les partis politiques à participer à un processus consultatif et à commencer à réfléchir sérieusement aux questions de vie privée.
Nevertheless, it is the hope, I think, of the CEO, and certainly of me, that the general debate about the Canada Elections Act and Bill C-23 will bring this issue of privacy to the attention of the house, the Senate and the general public, and it will be possible, then, to use this process as a spur to get the political parties to engage in a consultative process and to begin to think seriously about the privacy issue.
