In addition to the court having jurisdiction to rule on the succession pursuant to this Regulation, the courts in the Member State of the habitual residence of any person who, under the law applicable to the succession, may make a declaration before an authority concerning the acceptance or the waiver of the succession, of a legacy or of a reserved share of the estate or a declaration designed to limit the liability of the person concerned in respect of the liabilities of the estate shall have jurisdiction to receive such declarations where, under the law of that Member State, such declarations may be made before a court.

Le règlement (UE) n 542/2014 introduit de nouvelles règles concernant le rapport entre les demandes portées, d'une part, devant certaines juridictions communes à plusieurs pays de l’UE (comme la juridiction unifiée du brevet et la Cour de Justice Benelux) et de l’autre, devant les juridictions des pays de l’UE au titre du règlement Bruxelles I. Regulation (EU) No 542/2014 introduces new rules on the relationship between proceedings before certain courts that are common to several EU countries (such as the Unified Patent Court and the Benelux Court of Justice) on the one hand and the courts of the EU countries under the Brussels I Regulation on the other. This means that judgments handed down by these courts should be recognised and enforced in line with Regulation (EU) No 1215/2012.
