A. prenant acte avec grand intérêt de la volonté du Président désigné de la Commission, M. Romano Prodi, de négocier un nouvel accord avec le Parlement en ce qui concerne la responsabilité individuelle des commissaires et leur présence devant le Parlement, de renforcer l’engagement de la Commission de prendre des initiatives législatives à la demande du Parlement, d’engager un dialogue constructif avec ce dernier au sujet de la réforme administrative de la Commission et d’associer étroitement le Parlement aux travaux de la CIG,
A. noting with great interest the willingness of the President-Designate of the Commission, Mr Romano Prodi, to negotiate a new accord with the European Parliament with respect to the individual responsibility of Commissioners and the attendance of Commissioners before Parliament, to strengthen the Commission’s commitment to initiate legislation following a request from Parliament, to engage upon a constructive dialogue with Parliament on administrative reform of the Commission, and to associate Parliament closely with the work of the IGC,
