Eurostat évalue régulièrement la qualité des données effectives notifiées par les États membres ainsi que celle des comptes sous-jacents du secteur des administrations publiques, élaborés conformément au règlement (CE) n° 2223/96 du Conseil du 25 juin 1996 relatif au système européen des comptes nationaux et régionaux dans la Communauté (SEC 95)[3].
Eurostat regularly assesses the quality of the actual data reported by Member States and of the underlying general government sector accounts compiled in accordance with Council Regulation (EC) No 2223/96 of 25 June 1996 on the European system of national and regional accounts in the Community (ESA95)[3].

3. A certificate on the financial statements of the action or the work programme and underlying accounts, produced by an approved external auditor or in case of public bodies, by a competent and independent public officer, may be demanded by the authorising officer responsible in support of any payment, on the basis of a risk assessment.
