At the same time, interregional agreements do offer significant gains because they promote regional integration, which strengthens partner countries' economies and reduces the number of regulations.

L'UE pourra, le cas échéant, promouvoir des accords de partenariat FLEGT interrégionaux dans le cadre des négociations commerciales régionales en cours avec d'autres régions comme l'Afrique centrale, le groupe élargi des États d'Afrique, des Caraibes et du Pacifique (ACP) ou le Mercosur, à titre de contribution au développement durable, conformément à l'objectif prioritaire convenu par l'UE et ses partenaires de pays tiers lors du Sommet mondial sur le développement durable, à savoir oeuvrer en faveur du développement durable.
If appropriate, interregional-FLEGT partnership agreements will be promoted by the EU in current regional trade negotiations with other regions, such as Central Africa, the wider group of Africa, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) countries, and Mercosur as a contribution to sustainable development, in line with the overarching goal to promote sustainable development agreed by the EU and it's third country partners in the WSSD.
