c.Mener des actions de sensibilisation et accorder une priorité élevée aux actions conjointes et aux échanges de bonnes pratiques, en étroite coopération avec les Nations unies, les organisations régionales et la société civile, y compris l’initiative mondiale sur 10 ans relative à la convention contre la torture, pour parvenir d’ici 2024 à la ratification et à la mise en œuvre de la convention contre la torture à l’échelle mondiale et pour promouvoir la ratification et la mise en œuvre du protocole facultatif de cette convention ainsi que de la convention internationale pour la protection de toutes les personnes contre les disparitions forcées.

réaffirme l'importance d'une politique interne dans l'Union qui promeuve le strict respect du droit international en matière de Droits de l'homme et l'obligation pour les États membres de légiférer d'une manière compatible, notamment, avec les conventions de Genève et leurs protocoles additionnels, la Convention contre la torture, la Convention pour la prévention et la répression du crime de génocide et le statut de Rome; salue les progrès accomplis par certains États membres dans l'application de cette juridiction universelle; encourage le Conseil, la Commission et les États membres à incorporer, au nom d'une plus grande cohérence entre politiques externes et politiques internes, la lutte contre l'impunité des crimes internationaux graves dans le développement de l'espace de liberté, de sécurité et de justice au sein de l'Union;
Reiterates the importance of European Union internal policy promoting adherence to international human rights law and the need for Member States to legislate in a way consistent with, inter alia, the obligations arising out of the Geneva Conventions and the Additional Protocols thereto, the Convention against Torture, the Genocide Convention and the Rome Statute; welcomes the progress made in the application of universal jurisdiction in some Member States; in pursuit of greater coherence of internal and external policies, encourages the Council, the Commission and the Member States to incorporate the fight against impunity for serious international crimes in the development of a common European Union area of freedom, security and justice;

The sources of international protection in the Member States of the European Union are, of course, the Geneva Convention of 1951 on the status of refugees and the 1967 Protocol, national constitutional and legislative provisions and other international Conventions and the consequences in asylum terms of compliance with the European Human Rights Convention (ECHR - Article 3) and the Convention against Torture (Article 3 again), and in certain cases the Convention on the Rights of the Child.
