4. Dès l’entrée en vigueur de la présente convention, les mesures de conservation et de gestion et les autres arrangements adoptés par la Commission conformément à la convention de 1949 restent en vigueur jusqu’à leur échéance ou leur abrogation par décision de la Commission ou leur remplacement par d’autres mesures ou arrangements adoptés conformément à la présente convention.
4. Upon the entry into force of this Convention, conservation and management measures and other arrangements adopted by the Commission under the 1949 Convention shall remain in force until such time as they expire, are terminated by a decision of the Commission, or are replaced by other measures or arrangements adopted pursuant to this Convention.

7. Les déclarations du fournisseur et les fiches de renseignements délivrées avant la date d'entrée en vigueur du présent protocole conformément à l'article 23 du protocole n° 1 de la quatrième convention ACP-CE restent valables.
7. Suppliers' declarations made and information certificates issued before the date of entry into force of this Protocol in accordance with Article 23 of Protocol 1 to the Fourth ACP-EC Convention shall remain valid.

Les représentants des États d'Afrique, des Caraïbes et du Pacifique (ACP) visés dans le protocole n° 8 sur le sucre ACP annexé à la quatrième convention ACP-CEE et de la Commission, agissant au nom de la Communauté européenne, sont convenus, conformément aux dispositions dudit protocole, de ce qui suit.
The representatives of the ACP States referred to in Protocol 8 on ACP sugar annexed to the Fourth ACP-EEC Convention and of the Commission, acting on behalf of the European Community, have agreed, pursuant to the provisions of the said Protocol, on the following:

considérant que, en vertu des dispositions du règlement (CEE) no 1820/87 du Conseil, du 25 juin 1987, concernant l'application de la décision no 2/87 du conseil des ministres ACP-CEE relative à la mise en vigueur anticipative du protocole d'adhésion du royaume d'Espagne et de la République portugaise à la troisième convention ACP-CEE (3), l'Espagne et le Portugal diffèrent, respectivement jusqu'au 31 décembre 1989 et 31 décembre 1990, l'application du régime préférentiel dans le secteur des fruits et légumes relevant du règlement (CEE) no 1035/72 (4), modifié en dernier lieu par le règlement (CEE) no 1119/89 (5); que, par conséquent, la concession tarifaire susmentionnée n'est pas applicable actuellement en Espagne et au Portugal, tandis qu'à partir du 1er janvier 1990 elle est applicable dans la Communauté à l'exclusion du Portugal; que, à partir de cette date et dans la limite de ces contingents tarifaires, l'Espagne doit appliquer des droits de douane calculés conformément aux dispositions du protocole à la troisième convention ACP-CEE précité;
Whereas under Regulation (EEC) No 1820/87 of 25 June 1987 concerning the application of Decision No 2/87 of the ACP-EEC Council of Ministers on the advance implementation of the Protocol to the third ACP-EEC Convention consequent on the Accession of the Kingdom of Spain and the Portuguese Republic to the European Community (3), Spain and Portugal may postpone implementation of the preferential arrangements for fruit and vegetables covered by Regulation (EEC) No 1035/72 (4), as last amended by Regulation (EEC) No 1119/89 (5), until 31 December 1989 and 31 December 1990 respectively; whereas, consequently, the abovemntioned tariff concession is not currently applicable in Spain or Portugal, but from 1 January 1990 it will apply throughout the Community except in Portugal; whereas from this date and within the limits of its tariff quotas Spain must apply customs duties calculated in accordance with the abovementioned protocol to the third ACP-EEC Convention;
