- (ES) Monsieur le Président, Madame la Commissaire, chers collègues, chaque année, au début de la procédure budgétaire, nous sommes confrontés au défi de répondre à une opinion publique qui s’inquiète à juste titre, au défi de savoir si nous sommes capables d’atteindre un équilibre sérieux et efficace pour l’orientation du prochain budget de sorte que le contribuable sache pourquoi, comment et dans quels domaines l’Union européenne va dépenser son argent.
– (ES) Mr President, Commissioner, ladies and gentlemen, each year, at the beginning of the budgetary procedure, we face the challenge of responding to a public which is justifiably concerned and to the challenge of discovering whether we are capable of achieving a serious and effective balance in order to guide the next budget in such a way that taxpayers will know on what, how and why the European Union is going to spend their money.
