L’article 3 dit que l’objet de la nouvelle loi est d’accroître l’obligation redditionnelle et la transparence des Premières Nations en matière financière en rendant obligatoires la préparation et la divulgation de certains états et renseignements financiers, à savoir leurs états financiers consolidés vérifiés ainsi que l’annexe des rémunérations versées et des dépenses remboursées à ses chefs et conseillers par une Première Nation ou par une entité dont les états financiers doivent être intégrés à ceux de la Première Nation.
Clause 3 states that the purpose of the legislation is to enhance the financial accountability and transparency of First Nations by requiring the preparation and public disclosure of certain financial statements and information, consisting of audited consolidated financial statements, as well as schedules of remuneration paid and expenses reimbursed by a First Nation or by an entity whose statements are required to be consolidated to its chief and councillors.
