On the basis of the decision of the European Council, we will also move forward on defining a transition period, which will be short and supervised during which we will maintain the full regulatory and supervisory architecture – and obviously the role of the Court of Justice – as well as European policies.

In the light of the discussion and the comments and suggested amendments put forward by the delegations, the Presidency said that it would be preparing a revised text of the Guidelines for the joint Labour and Social Affairs/ECOFIN Council on 1 December, on the basis of the communication from the Commission; account would obviously also be taken of the discussion to be held at the ECOFIN Council on 23 November and the opinions of the Employment and Labour Market Committee (ELMC) and the Economic Policy Committee (EPC).
