IN-CONTEXT TRANSLATIONS

La décision 87/600/Euratom du Conseil fait obligation aux États membres de notifier et de communiquer des informations à la Commission et aux autres États membres en cas d'urgence radiologique sur leur territoire, et la directive 2013/59/Euratom impose aux États membres des obligations concernant l'information de la population sur les mesures de protection sanitaire applicables et sur le comportement à adopter en cas d'urgence radiologique, ainsi que la fourniture régulière d'informations actualisées aux personnes susceptibles d'être affectées dans un tel cas d'urgence.
Council Decision 87/600/Euratom imposes obligations on Member States to notify and provide information to the Commission and to other Member States in case of a radiological emergency on their territory, whilst Directive 2013/59/Euratom includes requirements on Member States to inform the general public about health protection measures to be applied and steps to be taken in the event of a radiological emergency, and to provide at regular intervals updated information to the population likely to be affected in the event of such an emergency.

Is of the opinion that, other than in cases of exceptional urgency, any meeting of the European Council should be preceded by a debate in Parliament, allowing the adoption of a resolution, with the President of the European Council coming to present the subjects on the agenda in person; believes that Parliament and the European Council should organise their respective work so as to give to Parliament the opportunity to make known its opinion on these subjects in good time, and to allow the President of the European Council to report back after each meeting of the European Council in front of the plenary sitting; stresses that, as far as it is possible, European Council meetings should not take place during the plenary session weeks of Parliament;
