(15) Regulation (EC) No 2001/45 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 18 December 2000 on the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data by the Community institutions and bodies and on the free movement of such data and in particular its Articles 21 and 22 as regards confidentiality and security of the processing applies to the processing of personal data by the Community institutions or bodies when carrying out their tasks as responsible for the operational management of the SIS II. The principles set out in Regulation (EC) No 2001/45) should be supplemented or clarified in this Regulation, where necessary.
