Donc, monsieur le président, je pense qu'il nous incombe afin de rassurer les Canadiens sur cette question très critique d'effectuer une enquête sur les antécédents et les raisons qui ont mené à ce congédiement plutôt inhabituel à un moment inhabituel. Il faut voir si nous pouvons rassurer le public qu'il ne s'est rien passé de particulier et qu'il n'y a aucune raison derrière ce congédiement qui puisse miner la confiance qu'on porte aux projections et statistiques du Régime de pensions du Canada.
So, Mr. Chairman, I think in order to reassure Canadians on this very critical matter, it is incumbent upon us to do an investigation of the background and the reasons for this rather unusual firing at an unusual time and see whether we might be able to reassure the public that there was nothing untoward about it and nothing that might undermine the confidence in the projections and numbers that we will be getting on the Canada Pension Plan.
