In accordance with the overarching obligation to act in accordance with the best interest of clients and taking into account the obligations resulting from specific Union legislation regulating certain financial instruments (in particular, units in collective investment undertakings and packaged retail and insurance-based investment products (PRIIPs) investment firms should disclose and aggregate all costs and charges, including the costs of the financial instrument, in all cases where investment firms are obliged to provide the client with information about the costs of a financial instrument in accordance with Union legislation.

(22) Pour faciliter l’application efficace et cohérente de l’obligation générale de sécurité établie par le présent règlement, il importe de recourir à des normes européennes couvrant certains produits et risques de telle manière qu’un produit conforme à une norme européenne dont la référence est publiée au Journal officiel de l’Union européenne soit présumé conforme à ladite obligation.
(22) In order to facilitate the effective and consistent application of the general safety requirement set out in this Regulation, it is important to make use of European standards covering certain products and risks in such a way that a product which conforms to such a European standard, the reference of which is published in the Official Journal of the European Union, is to be presumed to be in compliance with that requirement.
