L'annexe I du règlement doit être modifiée afin de tenir compte de l'action réglementaire sur certains produits chimiques, conformément à la directive 76/769/CEE relative à la limitation de la mise sur le marché et de l'emploi de certaines substances et préparations dangereuses, à la directive 91/414/CEE concernant la mise sur le marché des produits phytopharmaceutiques et à la directive 98/8/CE concernant la mise sur le marché des produits biocides, ainsi qu'à d'autres actes législatifs communautaires.
Annex I of this Regulation should be amended to take into account regulatory action in respect of certain chemicals taken pursuant to Directive 76/769/EEC relating to restrictions on the marketing and use of certain dangerous substances and preparations, Directive 91/414/EEC concerning the placing of plant protection products on the market, Directive 98/8/EC concerning the placing of biocidal products on the market and of other Community legislation.

According to Commission's proposal, this amount is intended to cover the following activates: Activities linked to the EGF mid-term evaluation (Art. 17) - monitoring and implementation studies, creation of a knowledge base, exchange of information and experience among Member States and Commission experts and auditors, development of networks, organisation of meetings of the Expert Group of the EGF Contact persons, organisation of seminars on the implementation of the Fund, as well as information and publicity activities (Art. 9) and a further development of the EGF website and publications in all EU languages.

E. whereas on the basis of these Articles the Commission requested mobilisation of the EGF in order to cover its administrative needs for the preparatory work in view of the mid-term evaluation of the functioning of the EGF, covering studies on implementation, reintegration of workers into the labour market, development of networks between Member State services in charge of the EGF, exchange of good practices and also for the update and development of the website, of applications and documents in all languages and audiovisual activities, which is in line with Parliament's will to raise citizens awareness on EU actions,

Considers, furthermore, that effective monitoring systems should be established for forestry measures to be implemented by Member States with cofinancing from the European Union pursuant to Council Regulation (EC) No 1257/1999 of 17 May 1999 on support for rural development, in which connection the recommendations of the Court of Auditors concerning the implementation of the Forestry Strategy should be acted upon;

Those programmes were approved by Commission Decision 2002/673/EC of 22 August 2002 approving the programmes for the implementation of Member States’ surveys for avian influenza in poultry and wild birds (8) and Commission Decision 2004/630/EC of 27 July 2004 approving the programmes for the implementation of Member States’ surveys for avian influenza in poultry and wild birds during 2004 and laying down reporting and eligibility rules for the financial contribution from the Community to the implementation costs of those programmes (9).
