Il convient d’actualiser la législation existante relative à la circulation et à l’utilisation des matières premières pour aliments des animaux et des aliments composés pour animaux, y compris des aliments pour animaux familiers, à savoir la directive 79/373/CEE du Conseil du 2 avril 1979 concernant la circulation des aliments composés pour animaux (6), la directive 93/74/CEE du Conseil du 13 septembre 1993 concernant les aliments pour animaux visant des objectifs nutritionnels particuliers (7) («aliments diététiques pour animaux»), la directive 96/25/CE du Conseil du 29 avril 1996 concernant la circulation et l’utilisation des matières premières pour aliments des animaux (8) et la directive 82/471/CEE du Conseil du 30 juin 1982 concernant certains produits utilisés dans l’alimentation des animaux (9) («bioprotéines»), et de la remplacer par un règlement unique.
The existing legislation on the circulation and use of feed materials and compound feed, which includes pet food, namely Council Directive 79/373/EEC of 2 April 1979 on the circulation of compound feedingstuffs (6), Council Directive 93/74/EEC of 13 September 1993 on feedingstuffs intended for particular nutritional purposes (7) (dietetic feed), Council Directive 96/25/EC of 29 April 1996 on the circulation and use of feed materials (8) and Council Directive 82/471/EEC of 30 June 1982 concerning certain products used in animal nutrition (9) (bio-proteins), needs to be updated and replaced by a single regulation.
