Si un juge, après avoir entendu une cause, estime que la gravité des gestes posés par un prévenu est suffisamment grave pour lui imposer une peine d'emprisonnement à perpétuité, sans possibilité de libération avant 25 ans, nous devrions, comme société, honorer ce jugement afin de sanctionner correctement un comportement hautement répréhensible, de manière à rendre justice aux victimes et à leurs proches qui, malheureusement, ne pourront jamais réparer le passé.
If, after hearing a case, a judge feels that a defendant's actions were serious enough to warrant a life sentence with no possibility of parole for 25 years, then as a society we should honour that judgment in order to properly punish extremely reprehensible behaviour and to render justice to the victims and their loved ones, who sadly will never be able to undo what has happened.
