Outre le fait qu'elle abolit d'un trait de plume le résultat de plusieurs années de lutte et qu'ainsi, elle fragilise à nouveau la communauté minoritaire franco-ontarienne, elle heurte de front la conception fondamentale, l'idéal que nous nous sommes fait de ce pays où, dans sa capitale nationale, ses deux grandes communautés linguistiques fondatrices peuvent vivre dans l'harmonie, se développer et s'enrichir au contact l'une de l'autre.
