Eurojust et le procureur européen chargé de la protection des intérêts financiers de la Communauté seraient parfaitement complémentaires: tandis que le projet de nomination d'un procureur européen consiste à centraliser la direction des poursuites dans un domaine fondamentalement européen mais bien limité, Eurojust est une structure ayant vocation à travailler avec les instruments traditionnels de coopération dans un domaine beaucoup plus large de la grande criminalité.
Eurojust and the European Public Prosecutor for the protection of the Community's financial interests would complement each other; the latter would centralise the direction of prosecutions in a specifically European but otherwise limited area; Eurojust, on the other hand, would operate with the traditional tools of cooperation over a far broader area of serious criminal activities.
