Finally, as has been repeatedly emphasised by Parliament and its Committee on Fisheries (see, for example, the Committee on Fisheries report A5-0045/2001 and Parliament's resolution of 15 November 2000 [OJ C 223,08.08.2001, p. 187, A5-0275/2000] on the Commission Communication on Community participation in Regional Fisheries Organisations), the rapporteur stresses once again how important it is for Parliament to be notified of issues dealt with within RFO decision-making bodies which will impose legal obligations on the Community sufficiently in advance of the meetings at which the undertakings given by RFOs are drawn up, so as to enable Parliament to play an active role in the decision-making process.
