Depuis 2006, l’Union européenne a investi 400 millions d’euros au titre du programme d’aide en faveur de la communauté chypriote turque afin de soutenir les petites entreprises locales, de développer ou d’améliorer des infrastructures clés, de soutenir la mobilité des étudiants et de préparer la communauté chypriote turque à la mise en œuvre de l’ensemble des textes législatifs de l’Union dans la perspective de la réunification de Chypre.
Since 2006, the EU has invested €400 million under the Aid Programme for the Turkish Cypriot community to support local small businesses, develop or improve key infrastructures, support student mobility and prepare the Turkish Cypriot community for the implementation of the EU body of laws in the perspective of the reunification of Cyprus.

Ce programme s’inscrit dans le prolongement du programme d’aide efficace qui encourage le développement économique de la communauté chypriote turque, améliore les relations entre les deux communautés et rapproche les Chypriotes turcs de l’Union européenne.
This is the continuation of the successful Aid Programme promoting the economic development of the Turkish Cypriot community, improving contacts between the two communities and bringing the Turkish Cypriots closer to the EU.

210. souligne qu'il importe de continuer à fournir une aide à la communauté chypriote turque au titre des dispositions du règlement (CE) n° 389/2006, comme l'indique également la Commission dans sa réponse au rapport spécial de la Cour des comptes; souligne l'importance du rapprochement entre la communauté chypriote turque et l'Union afin de faciliter le processus de réunification; estime par conséquent qu'à l'avenir, les fonds octroyés i) à la promotion du développement socio-économique, ii) au développement et à la restructuration des infrastructures, iii) à la réconciliation, aux mesures de renforcement de la confiance et au soutien à la société civile, iv) au rapprochement entre la communauté chypriote turque et l'Union, v) à l'élaboration de textes juridiques alignés sur l'acquis, vi) à la préparation de la mise en œuvre de l'acquis, ainsi qu'à la promotion de l'intégration économique élevée au rang de priorité, devraient être augmentés et les programmes bicommunautaires associés renforcés;
210. Stresses the importance of continuing to provide assistance to the Turkish Cypriot community according to the provisions of Regulation (EC) No 389/2006, as also noted by the Commission in its reply to the Court of Auditor's Special Report; stresses the importance of bringing the Turkish Cypriot community closer to the Union in order to facilitate the process of reunification; takes the view, therefore, that in future, the resources allocated to (i) the promotion of social and economic development, (ii) the development and restructuring of infrastructure, (iii) reconciliation, confidence-building measures and support to civil society, (iv) bringing the Turkish Cypriot community closer to the Union, (v) the preparation of legal texts aligned with the acquis communautaire , (vi) preparation for the implementation of the acquis communautaire , as well as to fostering economic integration as a matter of priority, should be increased and the related bi-communal programmes should be intensified;

En d’autres termes, nous estimons que ce soutien contribuera au développement général de la communauté chypriote turque, de sorte que si Dieu le veut - et nous espérons que cela se produira très prochainement -, le problème de Chypre sera résolu grâce à la réunification de l’île et les Chypriotes turcs seront sur un pied d’égalité avec leurs compatriotes chypriotes grecs.
In other words, we consider that this support will contribute towards the general development of the Turkish Cypriot community, so that when, God willing – and this is something we hope will happen soon – the Cyprus problem is resolved with the reunification of Cyprus, the Turkish Cypriot community will be at the same high standard as the Greek.
