The Trans-European Transport Network Executive Agency (hereinafter referred to as the Agency) was set up by Commission Decision 2007/60/EC (2) of 26 October 2006, to manage the Community action in the field of the trans-European transport network until 31 December 2008 for the implementation of tasks concerning the granting of Community financial aid pursuant to Council Regulation (EC) No 2236/95 of 18 September 1995 laying down general rules for the granting of Community financial aid in the field of the trans-European networks (3).

The Agency shall be responsible, in the framework of Community action in the field of the trans-European transport network, for the implementation of tasks concerning the granting of Community financial aid pursuant to Regulation No 2236/95 of the Council (2), excluding programming, the establishment of priorities, programme evaluation, the adoption of financing decisions and legislative monitoring.

Il est rappelé que le RNIS est un réseau général polyvalent fournissant, via un accès unique, un large éventail de services dans le domaine de la transmission de la voix, de donnés et d'images et qu'il se greffe sur le réseau téléphonique existant.
DEVELOPMENT OF THE INTEGRATED SERVICES DIGITAL NETWORK (ISDN) AS A TRANS- EUROPEAN NETWORK The Council held an in-depth discussion on: - a proposal for a European Parliament and Council Decision on a series of guidelines for the development of the ISDN as a trans-European network; - a proposal for a Council Decision adopting a multiannual Community action programme on the development of the ISDN as a trans-European network (TEN-ISDN); It was noted that the ISDN was a general, multi-purpose network integrating a large variety of voice, data and image services via a single network access, which was evolving out of today's telephone network.
