La communication de la Commission du 18 janvier 2011, intitulée "Développer la dimension européenne du sport", expose les idées de la Commission pour une action au niveau de l'Union dans le domaine du sport après l'entrée en vigueur du traité de Lisbonne et propose une liste d'actions concrètes à mener par la Commission et les États membres pour renforcer l'identité européenne du sport, qui s'articulent autour de trois grands axes: le rôle social du sport, sa dimension économique et son organisation.
The Commission's communication of 18 January 2011 entitled 'Developing the European Dimension in Sport' sets out the Commission's ideas for action at Union level in the field of sport following the entry into force of the Treaty of Lisbon, and proposes a list of concrete actions to be taken by the Commission and Member States in order to increase sport's European identity in three broad chapters: the societal role of sport, the economic dimension of sport and the organisation of sport.
