Pour la production et la diffusion des statistiques communautaires au titre du présent règlement, les autorités statistiques nationales et communautaire devraient tenir compte des principes énoncés dans le code de bonnes pratiques de la statistique européenne qui a été adopté le 24 février 2005 par le comité du programme statistique, établi par la décision 89/382/CEE, Euratom du Conseil et figure en annexe à la recommandation de la Commission concernant l'indépendance, l'intégrité et la responsabilité des autorités statistiques nationales et communautaire.
In the production and dissemination of Community statistics under this Regulation, the national and Community statistical authorities should take account of the principles set out in the European Statistics Code of Practice, which was adopted on 24 February 2005 by the Statistical Programme Committee, established by Council Decision 89/382/EEC, Euratom and attached to the Recommendation of the Commission on the independence, integrity and accountability of the national and Community statistical authorities.

In order to enhance trust in European statistics, the national statistical authorities should in each Member State, as should the Community statistical authority within the Commission, enjoy professional independence and ensure impartiality and high quality in the production of European statistics, in accordance with the principles laid down in Article 285(2) of the Treaty as well as the principles further elaborated in the European statistics Code of Practice endorsed by the Commission in its Recommendation of 25 May 2005 on the independence, integrity and accountability of the national and Community statistical authorities (incorporating the European statistics Code of Practice).
