The revised resolution is as follows: It was agreed, That the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Trade urge the Parliament of Canada to recognize the Committee representing the People's Parliament as the representatives of the people of Burma; and further urge the Government of Canada to consider the imposition of investment sanctions on the regime in Burma. Deepak Obhrai moved, That pursuant to Standing Order 108, the committee undertake an examination of management decisions, operations and criteria used to evaluate medium and long-term financing decisions, other than short-term insurance, of the Export Development Corporation, and that the Minister of International Trade, Pierre Pettigrew, EDC Chairman Patrick Lavelle and EDC President Ian Gillespie be called to appear.

Pettigrew (Minister for International Trade, Lib.): Mr. Speaker, pursuant to Standing Order 109, I have the honour to table, in both official languages, the government's response to the report of the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Trade entitled “Exporting in the Canadian Interest: Reviewing the Export Development Act”.

J'ai été le seul à voter contre la motion, surtout parce que je crois être le seul député de ce comité à avoir un intérêt direct et tangible dans le dossier aéroportuaire, ma circonscription étant adjacente à l'aéroport international Pierre-Elliott-Trudeau de Montréal.
I was the only one to vote against this motion mainly because I believe I'm the only member on this committee with a direct and concrete interest in the issue of airports because my riding is adjacent to the Montreal Pierre-Elliott-Trudeau international airport.

Marlene Jennings: With regard to the Airport Soundscape Consultative Committee for Montreal-Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport, of which Transport Canada is a member, and as a follow-up to the October 5, 2009 letter from the Minister of Transport, Infrastructure and Communities to the honourable Member from Notre-Dame-de-Grâce—Lachine: (a) what have been the exact measures implemented over the last 15 years by this Committee designed to minimize aircraft noise around Montreal’s airports; and (b) what impact have these measures had on minimizing aircraft noise around Montreal’s airports?
