(6) In the event of non-compliance with a parameter that has an indicator function, the Member State concerned should assess whether that non-compliance poses any be required to determine the cause thereof, to assess the level of the risk to human health, including in the long-term, and the possibilities for intervention and, where necessary, take remedial action to restore to ensure that the water supply complies with the quality of the water criteria laid down in this Directive as soon as possible .
