Par conséquent, je considère comme essentiel le fait que le Parlement européen se manifeste et exprime clairement une ligne de conduite, qui n’est pas seulement celle de mon groupe. À cet égard, je m’adresse à mon collègue M. Poettering pour l’informer que j’ai été le premier à applaudir quand, lors de la séance plénière extraordinaire tenue en raison des attaques du 11 septembre, il a expressément cité l’intervention d’Anouar al-Sadate au sein de ce Parlement.
I therefore believe it is important that we, in the European Parliament, clearly express and demonstrate an approach, which is not just the approach of my group, and in this case I would like to address Mr Poettering to say that I was the first to applaud when, at the special sitting we held on the attacks of 11 September, he expressly cited the speech of Anwar al-Sadat in this Parliament.
