The agreement stemmed from a complaint lodged by the Association of Affiliated Members of the International Federation of Phonogram and Videogram Producers (IFPI), which represents the whole of the Community's recording industry; they considered that the lack of adequate protection against cassette reproduction in indonesia meant that the industry was losing around US$ 150 million a year.
