Conscious of the importance of its role, the Commission each year supported actions aiming at the reinforcement of the awareness of the general public as well as of national, regional and local authorities about the need to protect cultural assets. The Commission's support was given through both aid to projects of high quality in cultural and technical terms as well as to various types of activities (exhibitions, publications, etc.) all of which have as an objective to make known the value of projects and of the Community initiatives in this sector.
