The Council welcomes the Commission's intention to prioritise these issues in the accession process, including the planned "Speak Up!" conference with media and civil society stakeholders from the Western Balkans and Turkey in the first half of 2013.

Le présent rapport s’efforce de donner une vue d’ensemble des relations économiques et commerciales avec les pays des Balkans occidentaux et d’étudier comment, à l’aide des instruments économiques et financiers dont dispose l’UE, la stabilisation de la région, l‘amélioration du développement des pays et un niveau de vie plus élevé pour leur population peuvent être promus, dans la perspective de leur adhésion à l’UE.
This report seeks to give an overview of economic and trade relations with the countries of the Western Balkans and to see how, using the economic and financial instruments that the EU has at its disposal, the stabilisation of the region, improved development for its countries and a higher standard of living for their populations can be promoted, with an eye to their accession to the EU.
