IN-CONTEXT TRANSLATIONS

1. Les parties s’engagent à poursuivre l’objectif commun consistant à continuer de lever les obstacles à l’accès aux marchés afin de maximiser les avantages pour les consommateurs, les transporteurs aériens, les travailleurs et les populations des deux côtés de l’Atlantique, notamment en facilitant l’accès de leurs transporteurs aériens aux marchés mondiaux de capitaux afin de mieux refléter les réalités de l’industrie aéronautique mondiale, en renforçant le système de transport aérien transatlantique et en établissant un cadre qui encouragera les autres pays à ouvrir leurs propres marchés des services aériens.
1. The Parties commit to the shared goal of continuing to remove market access barriers in order to maximise benefits for consumers, airlines, labour, and communities on both sides of the Atlantic, including enhancing the access of their airlines to global capital markets, so as better to reflect the realities of a global aviation industry, the strengthening of the transatlantic air transportation system, and the establishment of a framework that will encourage other countries to open up their own air services markets.

Urges the Member States to give the Commission as soon as possible a mandate to conduct negotiations concerning the revision of such air traffic agreements in concert with them, and calls upon the Commission after having been granted an adequate mandate to take up negotiations with the USA under the leading point of full reciprocity and with the objective of finally creating a "Transatlantic Common Aviation Area" and a genuine Single Market in air transport;

Welcomes the Commission's proposal to establish a Joint Transatlantic Aviation Agreement, as a basis for a future regulatory framework for global air transport services, replacing existing bilateral agreements; demands that the Council take a constructive approach in the development of this proposal;

La Commission accélérera ses travaux visant à instaurer un espace aérien transatlantique commun.Dans le cadre d'une première mesure attendant encore un mandat de négociation du Conseil, elle s'efforcera d'établir un code de conduite avec les États-Unis afin de garantir des conditions égales de concurrence.
The Commission will accelerate its efforts to develop a trans-Atlantic common aviation area. As a first step pending a negotiating mandate from Council, the Commission will seek to establish a Code of Conduct with the US in order to ensure equal competitive conditions.
