Le 3 avril 2012, la Commission a ouvert une enquête approfondie à la suite de la notification, par la Belgique, du «régime de garantie des coopératives», dont le but était de couvrir les parts des coopérants particuliers dans les coopératives agréées qui soit faisaient l'objet de la surveillance prudentielle de la Banque nationale de Belgique («BNB»), soit avaient investi au moins la moitié de leurs actifs dans un établissement faisant l'objet d'une telle surveillance («coopératives financières»).
On 3 April 2012, the Commission opened an in-depth investigation following Belgium's notification of the so-called "cooperative guarantee scheme”, which was aimed at covering the shares of individual shareholders in those recognised cooperatives which either were under prudential supervision of the National Bank of Belgium ("NBB") or had invested at least half of their assets in an institution subject to such supervision ("financial cooperatives").
