Deplores the fact that in the case of the EFSF no arrangements whatsoever have been made so far for independent public external control, and regrets the fact that even after the ECA has nominated a member of the ESM audit board, the annual audit report of the board will be made available neither to Parliament nor to the general public; calls on the Court to provide Parliament regularly with the annual audit report of the board and all other necessary information on the Court's activities in that regard, so that Parliament can scrutinise the work of the Court of Auditors during the discharge procedure;

6. est fortement favorable à l'organisation d'un Forum européen du tourisme qui, au niveau communautaire, puisse constituer une interface pour promouvoir et améliorer la coopération entre les professionnels du tourisme et tous les acteurs concernés, et cela dans l'esprit d'une approche coopérative pour l'avenir du tourisme, telle que la Commission la propose; souhaite par ailleurs un renforcement du rôle du Comité consultatif du tourisme au niveau communautaire avec la participation, entre autres, des associations européennes de consommateurs et de protection du patrimoine culturel et environnemental;
6. Is very much in favour of organising a European Tourism Forum which, at Community level, might form an interface for promoting and improving cooperation between those professionally concerned with tourism and all others involved, in the interest of a cooperative approach to the future of tourism as proposed by the Commission; also wishes to see a strengthening in the role of the Advisory Committee on Tourism at Community level, with the participation of, amongst others, European consumer bodies and cultural and environmental heritage protection associations;

Je signalerai également la convention sur la torture que l'Irlande n'a pas ratifiée ; d'autre part, la Belgique, l'Irlande et la Grande-Bretagne n'ont toujours pas admis que le Comité des Nations unies contre la torture puisse examiner des plaintes individuelles.
I also want to mention the Convention against Torture, which Ireland has still not ratified. Likewise, Belgium, Ireland and Great Britain have yet to recognise the United Nations Committee Against Torture as being competent to deal with individual complaints.

C'est la raison pour laquelle d'autres collègues, dont M. van Dam, et moi-même demandons de veiller à ce que le comité consultatif puisse jouer un rôle important et soit représentatif de tous les milieux concernés par la pêche sur l'ensemble du territoire européen.
It is for this reason that, together with other Members, Mr Van Dam, among others, I would still ask that an Advisory Committee be set up which has an important role to play, but which must represent the entire sector Europe-wide. In practical terms, this means that all fishing nations of the Union have to be represented in the committee.

2. Si, au terme d'un délai de six mois, la situation évoquée au paragraphe 1 persiste, le comité, statuant conformément à l'article 18 paragraphe 2, peut autoriser l'État membre affecté par ce changement à suspendre provisoirement l'application des dispositions de la présente convention sans que cette suspension puisse entraver la réalisation des objectifs mentionnés à l'article 8 A du traité instituant la Communauté économique européenne ou contrevenir à d'autres obligations internationales des États membres.
2. If, after six months, the situation mentioned in paragraph 1 still obtains, the Committee, acting in accordance with Article 18 (2), may authorize the Member State affected by that change to suspend temporarily the application of the provisions of this Convention, without such suspension being allowed to impede the achievement of the objectives mentioned in Article 8a of the Treaty establishing the European Economic Community or contravene other international obligations of the Member States.

4. Si un État membre ou la Commission estime qu'un organisme notifié par un autre État membre ne satisfait pas aux critères pertinents, le comité prévu à l'article 21 est saisi de la question et émet son avis dans un délai de trois mois; à la lumière de l'avis du comité, la Commission informe l'État membre concerné de toutes les modifications qui sont nécessaires pour que l'organisme notifié puisse conserver le statut qui lui a été reconnu.
4. Should a Member State or the Commission consider that a body notified by another Member State no longer meets the relevant criteria, the matter shall be referred to the Committee provided for in Article 21, which shall deliver its opinion within three months; in the light of the Committee's opinion, the Commission shall inform the Member State concerned of all the changes needed if the notified body is to maintain the status awarded to it.
