The examination of the information received led to the conclusion that it is justified to extend the geographical scope of its recognition for product category A to Cambodia, Iran, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar/Burma, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Suriname and The Gambia, for product category B to Ethiopia and for product category D to the Bahamas, Cambodia, Honduras, Iran, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar/Burma, Oman, Saudi Arabia and The Gambia.

In accordance with the recommended name to be used in Union acts, ‘Burma/Myanmar’ should be replaced by ‘Myanmar/Burma’.

8. En cas de refus, d’annulation, de suspension, de limitation substantielle ou de révocation de l’autorisation par les autorités compétentes d’un État membre, l’État membre concerné informe les autres États membres et la Commission de sa décision et échange toutes informations utiles avec les autres États membres et la Commission, notamment en ce qui concerne les articles, l’utilisateur final ou l’entreprise en cause en Birmanie/au Myanmar, dans le respect des règles de confidentialité prévues par le règlement (CE) no 515/97 du Conseil (13).
8. Where the competent authorities in a Member State refuse to grant an authorisation, or annul, suspend, substantially limit or revoke an authorisation, the Member State concerned shall inform the other Member States and the Commission thereof, and share relevant information with them, notably on the items, end-user or enterprise in Burma/Myanmar involved, in accordance with the confidentiality requirements provided by Council Regulation (EC) No 515/97 (13).

Devant la répression brutale opposée par les autorités birmanes aux manifestants pacifiques en septembre 2007 et la persistance de violations graves des droits de l’homme en Birmanie/au Myanmar, le Conseil a décidé, le 19 novembre 2007, d’instituer d’autres mesures restrictives à l’encontre du régime militaire de ce pays. Ces mesures viennent s’ajouter à celles déjà en vigueur conformément à la position commune 2006/318/PESC.
In reaction to the brutal repression perpetrated by the Burmese authorities against peaceful protestors in September 2007 and the continuing serious violations of human rights in Burma/Myanmar, the Council decided on 19 November 2007 to apply further restrictive measures against that country’s military regime, in addition to those already in place in accordance with Common Position 2006/318/CFSP.

5. Les autorités compétentes des États membres, qui figurent sur les sites Internet énumérés à l’annexe IV, n’accordent aucune autorisation pour l’exportation des biens et des technologies énumérés à l’annexe III lorsqu’il existe des motifs raisonnables de croire que les biens et les technologies seront mis à disposition d’une entreprise en Birmanie/au Myanmar ayant des activités dans les secteurs visés au paragraphe 1.
5. The competent authorities in the Member States, as indicated in the websites listed in Annex IV, shall not grant any authorisation for any export of the goods and technology listed in Annex III, where there are reasonable grounds to believe that the goods and technology will be made available to an enterprise in Burma/Myanmar engaged in the industries mentioned in paragraph 1.
