Le compromis qui a été fait aujourd'hui atteint deux buts.

John Lynch-Staunton (Leader of the Opposition): Honourable senators, as one who has had fingers pointed at him for being a little too concerned with the committee structure to the extent of wanting to block the creation of two new committees, let me first say that it was never my intention in my objections to deny the importance of human rights and defence as topics of study by the Senate.
