Dans ce contexte, je voudrais demander à cette Assemblée d’examiner attentivement un amendement qui a été déposé et signé par 40 députés, l’amendement 351, qui appelle à ce que les consommateurs disposent d’informations non seulement sur l’origine des matières premières utilisées dans certains produits agricoles non transformés qui arrivent sur nos tables, mais aussi sur les matières premières utilisées dans les produits transformés à ingrédient unique, autrement dit ceux qui contiennent un additif en plus du produit agricole.
In this context, I would like to ask this House to carefully examine an amendment that has been tabled and signed by 40 Members, Amendment 351, which calls for consumers to be given information not only on the origin of the raw materials used in some unprocessed agricultural products that arrive on our tables, but also on that of raw materials used in processed products comprising a single ingredient; in other words, those that contain an additive in addition to the agricultural product.

On devrait retenir particulièrement l'idée qu'on ne peut pas déclarer après coup avoir procédé à une consultation sans l'avoir dit au préalable. L'Assemblée des Premières Nations a examiné attentivement le projet de loi et a formulé un certain nombre de recommandations.
