Ce développement rural durable devra couvrir un double aspect de durabilité: un aspect strictement environnemental d’une part, afin d’encourager des pratiques agricoles compatibles avec le milieu; et d’autre part, un aspect socio-économique, dans le but d’assurer la survie d’exploitations et de systèmes de production viables dans l’ensemble du monde rural et enrayer la désertification.
This sustainable rural development will have to embrace a twin-fold notion of sustainability: strictly environmental sustainability, strengthening farming practices which are compatible with the environment, and socio-economic sustainability, guaranteeing the continued existence of viable farms and productive systems throughout the rural world and preventing desertification.
