Le Président fait savoir à la Chambre qu’une vacance est survenue dans la députation à la Chambre des communes pour la circonscription électorale de Jonquière, dans la province de Québec, par la suite du décès de M. André Caron, et que, conformément au paragraphe 28(1) de la Loi sur le Parlement, le Président a adressé au directeur général des élections, le lundi 3 février 1997, l’ordre officiel d’émettre un bref d’élection en vue de pourvoir à cette vacance.
The Speaker informed the House that a vacancy had occurred in the representation in the House of Commons, for the Electoral District of Jonquière, in the Province of Québec, by reason of the death of Mr. André Caron, and that, pursuant to subsection 28(1) of the Parliament of Canada Act, the Speaker had addressed, on Monday, February 3, 1997, his warrant to the Chief Electoral Officer for the issue of a writ for the election of a member to fill the vacancy.
