Conformément au programme pour le changement - le plan stratégique élaboré par la Commission pour recentrer son action sur les pays qui en ont le plus besoin et sur les secteurs dans lesquels elle peut faire la plus grande différence -, l'UE a revu sa façon de travailler en Amérique latine, optant pour un partenariat plus stratégique entre deux régions tournées vers l'avenir et cherchant à apporter des solutions à leurs problèmes communs (tel le changement climatique) dans le cadre d'une coopération régionale.
In line with the Agenda for Change– the Commission’s policy blueprint to focus aid on those countries which need it most and sectors where it can make the biggest difference – the EU has reshaped the way that it works in Latin America. This means a more strategic partnership between the two going forward, in which the two regions seek solutions to common challenges (e.g. climate change) via regional cooperation.
