Enfin, pour ce qui concerne l’avenir, il est important de poursuivre les réformes entamées par le passé dans l’Union européenne en vue d’améliorer notre efficacité énergétique. En effet, de cette manière, nous améliorerons la capacité de nos économies à faire face aux perturbations économiques externes telles que cette hausse du prix du pétrole et, parallèlement, en adoptant ces mesures, nous augmenterons le potentiel de croissance à long terme des économies de l’Union.
Finally, and looking to the future, it is important that we continue with the reforms initiated in the past within the European Union with a view to improving our energy efficiency, because in that way we will improve the capacity of our economies to deal with external economic disturbances, such as this rise in oil prices, and, at the same time, by adopting these energy efficiency measures, we will increase the long-term growth potential of the Union's economies.
