Nous devons donc aider l’industrie manufacturière européenne à se rétablir, surtout à un moment où les États-Unis, sous la présidence de Barack Obama, se préparent à modifier dans une certaine mesure les relations économiques au niveau mondial.
– (IT) Madam President, ladies and gentlemen, the financial crisis is teaching us that we need to go back to the real economy and thus we need to help the European manufacturing industry to recover, particularly at a time when the US, led by Barack Obama, is preparing to change economic relations worldwide to some degree.

Monsieur le Président, je profite de l'occasion pour remercier mes collègues du Bloc québécois qui, de concert avec mes collègues du parti au pouvoir, ont voté de façon unanime au Comité permanent de l'industrie, des sciences et de la technologie pour proposer une solution au gouvernement afin d'aider l'industrie manufacturière.
Mr. Speaker, I want to take this opportunity to thank my colleagues in the Bloc Québécois, who, along with my colleagues from the government party, voted unanimously in the Standing Committee on Industry, Science and Technology, to propose a solution to the government to help the manufacturing industry.

Cette initiative serait soutenue par des mesures spécifiques proposées dans le cadre des actions 5 et 6 consacrées aux infrastructures et à l'efficacité énergétique; afin de renforcer le recours aux technologies dans l'industrie manufacturière, «une initiative concernant les usines du futur»: l'objectif est d'aider les fabricants communautaires de tous les secteurs, en particulier les PME, à s'adapter à la pression concurrentielle mondiale par un renforcement de la base technologique de l'industrie manufacturière de l'UE, en développant et en intégrant les technologies fondamentales appropriées qui sont celles de demain, telles que les techniques d'ingénierie pour les machines adaptables et les processus industriels, les TIC et les matériaux avancés.
The initiative would be backed by specific actions proposed under actions 5 and 6 on infrastructure and energy-efficiency; To increase the use of technology in manufacturing, "a factories of the future initiative": The objective is to help EU manufacturers across sectors, in particular SMEs, to adapt to global competitive pressures by increasing the technological base of EU manufacturing through the development and integration the enabling technologies of the future, such as engineering technologies for adaptable machines and industrial processes, ICT, and advanced materials.
