Elle n’était cependant pas compétente pour examiner la participation minoritaire de Ryanair dans Aer Lingus; la commission britannique de la concurrence s’en est chargée[29].
The Commission prohibited the acquisition due to serious concerns that it would hurt competition by creating or strengthening Ryanair's dominant position on a number of routes.[28] However, it had no jurisdiction to review Ryanair's minority shareholding in Aer Lingus, which the UK Competition Commission proceeded to do.[29]
