A l'occasion de ses entretiens, Mme OGATA a indiqué que, à ce jour, la Communauté européenne est devenue, pour la première fois, le premier donateur mondial au Haut Commissariat des Nations Unies pour les Réfugiés (HCR), avec 2O5 millions de dollars US, soit le 22 % du total des contributions en 1992. Par ailleurs, si l'on additionne les contributions de la Commission avec celles des Etats Membres à titre bilatéral, la Communauté constitue en 1992 environ 41 % du total des contributions au HCR. - - - Mme Sadako OGATA a eu l'occasion de faire le point sur l'ensemble de la coopération entre la Commission et le Haut Commissariat des Nations Unies pour les Réfugiés (HCR).
