Le plan d'action européen de la défense est complémentaire et étroitement lié au plan de mise en œuvre de la stratégie globale dans le domaine de la sécurité et de la défense, qui définit un nouveau niveau d'ambition pour l'Union et identifie les actions qui permettront d'y parvenir, ainsi qu'à la mise en œuvre de ladéclaration commune UE-OTAN, signée par le président du Conseil européen, le président de la Commission et le secrétaire général de l'OTAN.
The European Defence Action Plan is closely linked with and complementary to the Global Strategy's Implementation Plan on Security and Defence, which sets out a new level of ambition for the Union and identifies actions to fulfil it, as well as with the implementation of the EU-NATO Joint Declaration signed by the President of the European Council, the President of the Commission and the Secretary-General of NATO.
