Definition: A rare disorder in which the patient complains spontaneously that his or her mental activity, body, and surroundings are changed in their quality, so as to be unreal, remote, or automatized. Among the varied phenomena of the syndrome, patients complain most frequently of loss of emotions and feelings of estrangement or detachment from their thinking, their body, or the real world. In spite of the dramatic nature of the experience, the patient is aware of the unreality of the change. The sensorium is normal and the capacity for emotional expression intact. Depersonalization-derealization symptoms may occur as part of a diagnosable schizophrenic, depressive, phobic, or obsessive-compulsive disorder. In such cases the diagnosis should be that of the main disorder.

La présente décision développant l'acquis de Schengen en application des dispositions du titre IV de la troisième partie du traité instituant la Communauté européenne, sauf dans la mesure où elle instaure un échange d'informations sur les problèmes associés au retour des ressortissants de pays tiers autres que ceux qui ne remplissent pas ou ne remplissent plus les conditions prévues pour bénéficier d'un court séjour, applicables sur le territoire d'un État membre en vertu des dispositions de l'acquis de Schengen, le Danemark, conformément à l'article 5 du protocole précité, décide, dans un délai de six mois après que le Conseil aura adopté la présente décision, s'il la transpose dans son droit national.
Given that this Decision builds upon the Schengen acquis under the provisions of Title IV of Part Three of the Treaty establishing the European Community, except insofar as it establishes an exchange of information on the problems associated with the return of third-country nationals other than those who do not fulfil or who no longer fulfil the conditions for a short stay applicable within the territory of a Member State by virtue of the provisions of the Schengen acquis, Denmark, in accordance with Article 5 of the aforementioned Protocol, shall decide within a period of six months after the Council has adopted this Decision whether it will implement it in its national law.

The experience gathered during previous evaluations demonstrates the need to maintain a coherent evaluation mechanism covering all areas of the Schengen acquis except those where a specific evaluation mechanism already exists under Union law.
